A recent meeting took place in Cork to assess the feasability of setting-up a Three Faiths Forum group for Munster. The forum is aimed at bringing together representatives of the three Abrahamic faiths - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - with the objective of gaining a better understanding of each other's faith and together strive towards a society defined by freindship, tolerance and co-operation.
Present at the meeting were Canon Desmond Sinnamon and Dr Siraj Zaidi of the Three Faiths Forum Ireland, based in Dublin. They shared how the forum has enriched the lives of many since it's inception in Ireland in 1997. Sr. Kathleen McGarvey represented the OLA Sisters at the gathering.
A follow-up meeting has been set for 3pm on Wednesday, July 13th at the Wilton Community Centre, Cork. Anyone who is interested in promoting an inclusive, welcoming and integrated society is welcome.
