The Lay Mission Movement (LMM) in Letterkenny meets at the Church of Irish Martyrs in the town. Guided by Sr. Patricia (McMenamin) we pray, reflect and get updates on the work of OLA in various countries.

Members of the group are now in the process of leading the reflections at the meeting on Laudato Si – Pope Francis’ Encyclical on the ‘Care of the Earth’. The sharing is inspiring and hopeful. We find these LMM meetings very enriching and informative.

As we gain insights into the work of the Missionary Sisters of OLA who share their faith and talents with the poor throughout the world, we are glad and grateful to be represented by such generosity of spirit, range of abilities and dedication that the OLA Sisters give witness to in their work. We have a special interest in and hope for success in the promotion of interfaith women’s groups led by the OLA Sisters. We feel privileged to be associated with the work of the Sisters through the Lay Mission Movement.

The OLA led Lay Mission Movement was set-up in 2008.  It currently has groups in four locations: Letterkenny, Rostrevor, Claremorris and Cork. The aims of the movement include bringing the OLA Sisters and laity together to share, reflect and talk about faith and the OLA mission outreach; uniting the missionary work of the OLA Sisters with the prayers and practical support of interested lay people; and building faith bridges and support networks.
