Group invited by the ladies of the Muslim Association of Ireland to join them in Iftar, the fast-breaking meal during Ramadan.
Sr. Julie Doran, OLA (2nd from right) joins women of other faiths during the Iftar fast-breaking in Dublin last Tuesday.
A group from Sisters of Faith for Peace (SFP) attended Tallaght Mosque, Dublin on June 14th as Muslims across the world broke their Ramadan fast which began on June 6th. This year Ramadan falls at a time when the days are at their longest in Ireland which means long days of fasting.
The evening began with a warm welcome by Hibah to the Mosque, followed by a brief tour. Hibah is a member of the Mosque as well as the SFP. The ladies from the SFP joined their Muslim sisters for a special buffet once the sun had set at 10pm. Ramadan continues until sunset on July 5th.
Sisters of Faith for Peace is a group of women of all faiths. They come together to work for peace by transcending the boundaries of their own personal faith and culture. This enables all to unite together and work towards the common goal of peace.
