Clogher Diocese Mark Laudato Si Anniversary

June 18th event to highlight ecological and climate crisis facing our world.

Clogher Diocese Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation Group (JPIC)  will host an Earth Day event at 2pm on Saturday, June 18 in St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre, Monaghan. Speakers at the event will include Bishop Liam McDaid, Bishop of Clogher, author Sr. Nellie McLaughlin and ecologist Bill Flynn.

At the conclusion of the event, Bishop Liam MacDaid will plant two rowan trees to mark the occasion of the first anniversary of the publication of Laudato Si.

Laudato Si was first released in May 2015 with ‘Caring for Our Common Home’ being the theme for the Pontiff’s encyclical. In Laudato Si, Pope Francis calls on us all to address the climate and ecological crisis that we face in our world today.
