Welcome
International group of Missionary Sisters.
We have more than 750 Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles. As OLA’s we work in nineteen countries across three continents. OLAs are women consecrated to God for the proclamation of the Gospel, they commit themselves for life.
OLA Sisters take part directly in the Mission of the Church, while working for the construction of a new world according to the plan of God, particularly in Africa.
We commit ourselves for life to announce the Gospel, the Good News of Salvation to those who do not know Christ yet, while working for the construction of a new world according to the plan of God.
ABOUT US
Since our beginnings in 1876 in France, OLAs continue to fulfil the intense missionary dream of our founder Fr. Augustine Planque, to be of service to the Gospel particularly with the people of Africa.
By God’s grace, we serve where the Gospel has yet to be rooted and where human need is greatest. Our priority is for the poor and marginalised, especially for women and children.
Currently you can find us living and working in nineteen countries across the world.
In Africa from Botswana in the South of Africa, to Tanzania in the East, to Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Togo, Chad, Niger, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso in the West. In North Africa and the Middle East we are in Algeria, Egypt and Lebanon.
A Calm Port in Stormy Seas
